Hearing and tinnitus evaluation assesses hearing loss and ringing in the ears to guide the right treatment. This is an assessment, not a cure for tinnitus.

• When the ringing started and whether hearing has changed are discussed
• One ear or both, and any dizziness or blockage, are noted
• The ears are examined before any treatment is suggested

Evaluation rather than a tinnitus cure

Tinnitus has more than one cause, and this visit does not claim to switch the sound off. The purpose is to understand the hearing and to choose a sensible next step.

• Ringing is assessed together with hearing, without a promise that it will stop
• A hearing test is used when it would explain the symptoms
• You are told what can be helped and what cannot be promised

Next steps after the hearing review

Follow-up explains the findings and the treatment or further test they support. That might be medical care, a hearing-aid discussion or another referral, depending on the cause.

• Further tests are arranged only when the assessment shows they are needed
• No claim is made that tinnitus will disappear
