Height and weight
Used to work out your body mass index, which is the single biggest factor in whether body surgery is safe to perform.

Some procedures have a lower age limit because the area is still developing.

Nicotine narrows the small vessels that feed healing tissue. It is the most common reason a wound breaks down.

Has your weight been stable for the last six months?
Body contouring gives a lasting result only once your weight has settled.

What stops it, and why
The reasons a surgeon would ask you to wait. They are worth reading even if none of them apply to you.
