Vascular occlusion
Filler blocking a blood vessel — the main serious risk of injectables.
The rare but serious complication in which filler enters or compresses an artery, cutting off blood supply to the skin. It is why filler should only be placed by someone who injects regularly, keeps hyaluronidase on site, and knows the vascular anatomy of the area — particularly the nose and the tear trough.
