Three to four hours under general anaesthetic, with two nights in hospital and drains in place.

Walking bent forward
You walk from day one, slightly stooped. Standing fully upright comes back over the first two weeks.

Drains removed
Drains come out once output is low enough, usually day four or five.

Safe to fly home
Ten days, with compression stockings and movement every hour on the flight.

Back to desk work
Three weeks for office work, six if your job is physical.

Garment comes off
The compression garment is worn for six weeks.

Full training
Abdominal exercise from eight weeks, once the muscle repair has healed.

Swelling resolves gradually; the waist is at its final shape by month six.

Final result
The scar has faded to a pale line sitting below the bikini line.
Recovery varies between people. Smoking, diabetes, how big the case was and how carefully the aftercare is followed all move these dates, usually later rather than earlier.
How long to stay in Istanbul
The package allows 8 nights, which covers the procedure, the checks and the final review before you fly. Staying one extra day is the cheapest insurance against a flight that gets moved.
