Breast Implants vs Fat Transfer
How much size you want decides this one
Implants deliver a chosen volume in a single operation. Fat transfer takes fat from elsewhere by liposuction and grafts it into the breast, which gives a smaller but entirely natural increase and reshapes the donor area at the same time.
| Factor | Implants | Fat transfer |
|---|---|---|
| Size increase | One to three cup sizes | Half to one cup size per session |
| Feel | Natural with good tissue cover | Entirely natural — it is your own tissue |
| Predictability | High | 60 to 70 per cent of the fat survives |
| Requires donor fat | No | Yes, a reasonable amount |
| Scars | One incision, usually in the fold | Several small cannula entry points |
| Longevity | Implants are replaced after 10 to 15 years | Permanent once the fat has settled |
| Effect on mammograms | Needs a modified technique | Can create calcifications that need experienced reading |
| Typical cost in Istanbul | €3,200 – €4,500 | €3,800 – €5,200 |
Which one should you choose?
Implants if you want a definite, chosen size, or if you are slim and have no fat to harvest.
Fat transfer if you want a modest increase, dislike the idea of an implant, and have an area you would be happy to have liposuctioned. The second benefit is real: most patients value the waist change as much as the breast change.
The two are also combined — a small implant with fat grafted over it to soften the edges — which is often the best answer for very slim patients.
Breast Augmentation
Breast augmentation changes size and shape with implants or fat transfer, planned around balanced proportions.
€3,200 – €4,500
Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL)
A Brazilian butt lift reshapes and lifts the buttocks using your own transferred fat. Safety depends on technique, and not all of the transferred fat survives.
€3,800 – €5,200
Frequently asked questions
- Can fat transfer give me two cup sizes?
- Not in one session. Overfilling reduces how much fat survives, so a second session six months later is how a larger increase is achieved.
- Do implants have to be replaced?
- Not on a fixed schedule, but they are not lifetime devices. Most are exchanged somewhere between ten and fifteen years, sooner if there is a problem.
